초등영어 교사양성 과정에 관한 연구

A study on the curriculum for training preservice primary English teachers

  This research aims to investigate beliefs and attitudes student teachers and trainers hold about the current primary English teacher training curriculum. It explores two key issues regarding the curriculum: content(subject) and process(methodology). In the present survey a questionnaire was designed and answered by 33 teacher trainers and 363 student teachers from 11 national universities of education. The results of the survey reveals that there is a gap between what student teachers" and trainers" views on the key aspects of the current curriculum. It is also found that experiential learning involving student teachers in teaching practice is neglected in the training curriculum. Both groups agree that field experience should be more emphasized. The results of the survey also reveals that there is a gap between what student teachers expect and what supervisory modes they are provided by their trainers. The findings of the survey provide implications for the development of preservice teacher training curriculum and for its effective implementation.
