초등학교 1학년 영어교육에서 독립교과와 통합교과 수업의 효과 연구

A study on the effects of independent and integrated English classes on 1st graders in elementary English education

  This study set out to give independent English classes and integrated English classes and to search for effective ways of teaching English to 1st graders based on the results. For those purposes, 61 1st graders from two classes were made into a subject group. Teaching materials recommended by model schools of elementary English were used during the independent English classes. Also, for integrated English classes with Wise Life, the investigator developed materials for integrated classes of English and Wise Life based on the characteristics of lower graders. The result turned out that the 1st graders enjoyed both the independent and integrated English classes with a sense of curiosity the former generating a little more effects than the latter. For introducing new materials and reducing hours of English teaching, integrated English classes with other subjects will be an alternative to independent English classes. Those results have implications for the efforts to find and apply the most proper teaching methods through more diverse researches on English education for the lower grades.
