The purpose of this study is to examine wig-wearing in an aesthetic aspect along with historical background in terms of politics, society, and culture in the baroque age and make a historical consideration of wig-wearing in the baroque age in an aesthetic respect among many uses of wig-wearing.<BR> The following conclusions were formed.: The baroque age saw the establishment and solidification of absolutism; merchants and the middle class who became rich with the rapid growth of bourgeoisie participated in clothes selection and the change from aristocracy-centered fashion to provide a new turning point to develop modern clothes for the citizens and generalize a wig as they began to expose their hair while both men and women began to spray powder on their hair in the late baroque age. From the fact that the absolute wig fashion by men and women caused even churchmen to wear a wig for as much as 130 years, wig-wearing in the baroque age was a means to express an aesthetic value other than the style or ornamentation.
