  This study was conducted to evaluate the protective effects of ample application on permanent hair coloring. Changes of morphological property in permanent dyed-hairs were determined by colorimeter (Hunter value, L*, a*, b*), Instron and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) according to ample application. Among three different ample treatments, there was not big differences in the protective effects on hair cuticle according to concentration of ample application. On the base of these results, the most effective concentration of ample treatment is 1g of ample per 1g of hair.
