Second, mental desolation caused by modern society brought interest to Eastern culture which, in turn, resulted in the rise of oriental style make-up. Third, the pursuit of variety and a feeling of nostalgia towards modes of the past created a mood of varied revival in makeup. Finally, styles derived from various artistic trends were observed in renewed and creative ways and expressed beauty in visual ways using geometric forms.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;As mentioned above, the tendencies of make-up in the late 1990s developed along with the major trends of modern fashion all the while exploiting a creative and original artistic area. Furthermore, they not only follow the trends of modern fashion but also reflect the social trends and the desires of their times.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The trends mutually interact with each other to develop, Therefore, to explore a new style of make-up, it is necessary to examine not just the upcoming fashion trends but the social and cultural tendencies, artistic trends and styles and the various technical and manufacturing advances in the cosmetic industry, The forthcoming trends in make-up will constitute an important part of modem fashion which looks for varied and characteristic ideas and will greatly contribute to the development of original make-up designs.
