Even though Body Art, which had been developed as the temporary artistic substitute for tattoo, has lost its unique characteristics of a ritual performed in the absence of clothes, in the modem times it has been considered one aspects of the mass artistic culture and has been extended to another area for the make-up by variously modeling body-image.
