원시미술에 나타난 바디아트 연구

A study of Body Art in the Primitive Art

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study starts from the interest about human body and try to clarify the very basic meaning of it, by whom the body art in the Primeval period was done, from the viewpoint of art sociology, and why it was done, and how it would be understood and interpreted. In the body art, the lives of Primitive and their mental world view are included. It is an art through human body and in the center of it, there is human body and with it, we can read their appreciation of human body. Spirit world and group ceremony are held through human body and sorcery comes to have power through physical change of body and builds up new identity.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In the Primeval period, body was already the essence of appreciation and art, the embodiment for spirit world and group ceremony, the meta language directing another world, social body making new identity, the object of worship with metaphysical power. Till now, there was no thesis approached to the body art from art sociology. Furthermore this is the first time that approached to it through Primitive art . So this study is of great importance.
