Hair Growth Effect of Hair Tonic from Herbal Extracts

&nbsp;&nbsp;The hair growth effects of hair tonic from herbal extracts have been evaluated in C57/BL6 mice. Animals were topically treated with saline, 10% ethanol, 3% minoxidil and hair tonic for 21 days on back of shaved area. Six weeks old mice were trimmed by electric clippers so as not to damage the skin. The test compounds were topically treated with 0.15㎖ per mouse.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;There was no clinical signs in all experimental groups. 14 days after treatment, hair growth effects were significantly observed in minoxidil and hair tonic group. The topical application of 3% minoxidil promoted hair regrowth earlier and faster than any other groups. Hair tonic also promoted hair growth faster than saline and 10% ethanol group.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;These data demonstrate that hair tonic from herbal extracts is effective in hair growth effects in animals and thus it may be applicable to humans.
