The purpose of this research is placed on the acquisition of information contributing to the cosmetic industry by finding out the generals of the cosmetics, the way and conditions of purchasing the products, and seasonal favorite colors of the basic make-up cosmetics, lipsticks and eye-shadows, after categorizing the ladies between 20 and 40 years old living in Daegu city and Kyungbook Province into 5 groups based on their academic records.<BR> The results of the research are summarized as follows :<BR> First, the demography of the ladies in Daegu City and Kyungbook Province reveals that the population distribution is in the order of those 20 to 24 years old, 33%, and the pollees have relatively high academic careers to the degree that college graduates or higher including present students take up 59.9% of the pollees.<BR> Second, the age of starting make-up tends to be earlier for younger generations. The research on the most concerned area of make-up turn out two different aspects : the younger people are mostly interested in eyes whereas older people in skins.<BR> Third, the general tendency of the possession of make-up products shows that the longer they have done make-up, the more number and kind of the products they use, and especially the amounts of possessing lip-sticks and lip-grosses grow relatively more than other products.<BR> Forth, the research results also show that the brand is very important in the choice of make-up cosmetics. The results tell that even if the price hovers high more or less, the reliability of the famous products that has brand power influences the selection of the product a lot.
