The primary purpose of this study was to provide a corner stone for introducing a new teaching and learning strategy into the beauty education by developing a PBL package for the area of make-up artists education.<BR> The implementation of PBL into the curriculum is expected to minimize the gap between the education and the real-world practice by providing opportunities for students to learn related knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as problem solving skills needed for make-up artists at the real-world practice situations.<BR> Therefore, this study suggested a need for PBL to be implemented into the beauty education in order to bring out make-up artist with problem solving skills so that they can perform adequately as practitioners in various and complicated real-world practice settings. Implementing PBL will contribute to bring out make-up artist capable of performing their roles as make-up artists with excellent problem solving skills and it will, in turn, reduce the cost of further training on the job after graduation.
