The Influence of Shampoo Treatment on the Dye Hair Coated with an Acid Coating Agent

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this study is to evaluate an influence of cleansing times with an acid or a neutral shampoo on the physical and morphological properties of dye hair coated with an acid coating agent. Tensile strength and chromaticity of the hairs cleansed by the shampoos were measured for characterization of the physical changes. In order to estimate the morphological changes the hairs were also observed by SEM(scanning electron microscope).<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;According to cleansing times, the tensile strength of all the hair tested in this study was decreased. In analysis of the chromaticity, the acid-coated dye hair had a significant difference of chromaticity when the cleansing times was increased. The morphological changes of the hair cleansed with two shampoos of acid and neutral pH was not visibly observed by SEM. Contrary to result of shampoo type, an impair of the cuticles of all the hair tested in study was considerably increased when cleansing times was increased. Consequently, the type of shampoo and cleansing times affect the morphology and physical properties of the acid-coated hair.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Therefore, in shampooing the acid-coated hair, the type of shampoo and cleansing times should be considered carefully.
