가정환경과 영어 사교육이 초등학생의 영어 학습능력에 미치는 영향

A study on the influence of elementary school students’ home environment and private education on English learning abilities

  The purpose of this study is to investigate some of the effects of the elementary school students’ home environment and private education on English abilities. For this purpose, 160 6th grade students in an elementary school in the city of ‘D’ were sampled. For this study, a questionnaire and an English achievement test were used. To examine the research hypothesis, T-tests were utilized for the collected data using SPSS statistical program. Results of analysis show that the English achievement of the children was affected significantly by their home environment and private English education. However, these results are somewhat limited in that English achievement scores would not always anticipate the possibilities for the success of English education. The government, the schools, and the homes must co-operate with each other to achieve successful English education. Above all things, more considerate care and concerns in the home are required to be given in order for children to learn English in a good environment.
