성매매와 성매매방지법에 대한 남성들의 인식 - 성구매 경험이 있는 도시 거주 30대 남성을 대상으로

&nbsp;&nbsp;본고는 성매매와 성매매특별법에 대한 30대 남성들의 인식을 알아보았다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;연구대상은 도시에 거주하는 30대 성구매 경험이 있는 9명의 남성들이며, 인터뷰 방식을 사용하였다. 연구기간은 2007년 11월 15일부터 12월 13일까지이다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;질문은 성매매와 성매매특별법에 대한 인식으로 두 부분을 나누었다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;성매매에 대한 남성들의 인식은 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;첫째, 첫성구매 경로는 다른 남성들의 권유나 술자리의 연장선에서 이루어진다. 여기에서 남성들의 성매매는 (남성들이 자주 언급하는) 불가피한 ‘본능’이라기 보다는 단순한 남성놀이문화의 한 부분임을 알 수 있다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;둘째, 면접자들은 일반 남성의 성구매 정도를 80-90% 정도로 높게 본다. 그러나 전북발전연구원의 결과에 따르면 성구매 경험이 없는 남성이 54.6%로, 본 연구의 결과와는 많은 차이가 있었다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;셋째, 성구매 후 ‘아무런 느낌이 없다’라는 응답이 많았다. 이것은 정말 느낌이 없어서 일 수도 있고, 자신의 감정을 드러내기 싫을 때의 반응으로 도 볼 수도 있다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;성매매특별법에 대한 인터뷰에서는 다음과 같이 요약할 수 있다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;첫째, 면접자의 대부분은 성매매특별법에 대해 잘 알지 못하고 있었다. 그냥 이름만 들어봤다는 수준에만 그쳐 성매매방지법에 대한 홍보가 미비함을 알 수 있다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;둘째, 성매매방지법에 대해 매우 부정적인 인식을 가지고 있다. 1) 음성적이고, 변종적인 성산업을 확산시켰고, 2) 정부와 경찰의 단속과 처벌을 미온적이고, 3) 법이 있어도 성매매는 근절하기 힘들다 등의 내용이 있었다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;셋째, 면접자들은 성매매특별법 공포 이후에도 지속적으로 성구매를 하는 것으로 드러났다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;넷째, 성구매는 지속적으로 있었지만, 성매매방지법으로 인해 심적 제약은 미약하나마 받고 있음이 드러났다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구를 종합해 볼 때, 성매매방지법에 대한 처벌과 단속이 강화되어야 하며, 성매매가 위법임을 교육, 매스컴을 통해 확실히 알려야 할 것이다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This paper handles recognition of 30s man for prostitution and anti-prostitution law.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The investigation of 9-men in their thirties who have ever bought sex was conducted by interviews.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This research was performed in November 15th till December 13th.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The main issues of this paper were divided into two categories : recognition of prostitution and anti-prostitution law.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The recognition of men to prostitution may be summarized as follows.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;First, channels of prostitution normally first occur through an extension of a drinking party or the male colleague who persuaded him to try it. On this point, it is found that men&quot;s sex trade is a part of male-dominated amusement culture rather than sexual instinct.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Second, interviewees estimated the rate of prostitution to general men to be 80~90%. But the results obtained from Jeonbuk Development Institute show that men who have never bought sex are 54.6%, which is quite different from my research data.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Third, a large number of the men surveyed say that they don&quot;t have any feelings or emotions for sex. This result may be their real sensation or response for covering up his feelings.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The interview for anti-prostitution law may be summarized as follows.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;First, most interviewees seem not to know about anti-prostitution law well.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Judging from the fact that they have just heard the name of it several times, it is estimated that anti-prostitution law hasn&quot;t been informed widely.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Second, according to conclusion derived from research data, it is found that interviewees have a negative view for anti-prostitution law; 1) it results in spreading illegal and degenerate sex trade, 2) the government and the police don&quot;t crack down hard enough on prostitution, 3) a large number of men regard that it is difficult to stamp out prostitution, even though the government strongly enforces the law related to prostitution.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Third, it is found that interviewees have constantly bought a sex since the law took effect.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Forth, while the sex trade occurred incessantly, it is found that anti-prostitution law have forced sex-buyer to mentally restrict illegal sex trade.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Finally, considering all the factors in this paper, it is concluded that Authorities should strictly enforce regulations and penalties for the sex trade, which should be notified strongly that prositution is illegal through instruction and mass media.
