This study examined the effects of job stress and self-efficay on preschool teachers" job satisfaction. The investigation is focused on the mediating effect of self-efficacy on job satisfaction, which was considered to mitigate the negative influences of job stress on job satisfaction. Data were collected with 300 preschool teachers of Chungbuk province by the survey method, and data analyses include frequencies, correlation analysis, and structural equation model using SPSS 14.0 and AMOS 5.0. Study results showed the overall job stress clearly affected negatively on teachers" job satisfaction while self-efficacy showed positive effects. Both variables together explained 63.1% of job satisfaction, and with higher level of self-efficacy, the negativity of job stress somewhat decreased.<BR> Therefore, self-efficacy"s partial mediating effect on job satisfaction was proved. Implications based on the results were discussed.
