As Korean psychologists continue to build the foundation for collaboration with the Korean criminal justice system, it may be useful to consider the experiences of psychologists in the United States who study and work with U.S. criminal justice systems. That experience has shown that such clinicians and social scientists should take care to be relevant, honest, and collaborative. This requires careful examination of: (a) the legal system within which we operate; (b) the strengths and weaknesses of our own field; and (c) the quality of the relationship between the two fields.
