This paper has several purposes. First, I investigate the psychological characteristics of battered women, and in so doing offer analysis of reasons that they don"t escape from offender. second, I discuss What they need and suggest thereby prevention policy of domestic violence.<BR> Generally, the myths and misconception that often end up being harmful to battered women charged with crimes have to do with 1) a belief that battered women can and should leave their abuser 2) a belief that if the woman on trial does not fit the person"s stereotype of a battered woman 3) a belief in the mutuality of abuse that women are just as violent as, or even more violent than men.<BR> In this article, I find reasons that battered women do not leave their abuser. First, they fear revenge. second, they worried about children. They thought children will be adversely affected by parent"s divorce. Third, economical dependency made her stay with abuser. Fourth, a certain women thought that husband and ex-husband acutely need their help. Finally, they have a guilty that they are not good enough as the wife.
