상습도박 중독자들의 심리와 처우

Treatment and Psychology of Inveterate Gamblers

&nbsp;&nbsp;본 연구는 상습도박자들의 심리와 처우에 대하여 실증적으로 알아보기 위한 것이다. 상습도박은 문제성 도박이나 병적 도박에 해당하는 것으로 이들의 심리적 특성에 대하여 그동안 충동성 등이 주요한 요인으로 제시되어 왔다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 서로 감정을 숨기고 속이는 도박현장의 특성 때문에 도박범들이 일상적으로 거짓말을 잘하게 되고, 그것이 상습도박자들의 성격적 특성으로 주요하게 자리 잡게 될 것이라 가정하였다. 따라서 교정심리검사를 통하여 평가된 상습도박 수형자들의 허위성 점수를 분석하였다. 그 결과 교정심리검사에서 표준점수를 기준으로 볼 때, 상습도박자들의 허위성이 상당히 높음을 확인하였다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;또한 상습도박자에 대한 법원의 양형태도와 교정시설 내에서 상습도박자들에 대한 처우실태를 살펴보았다. 그 결과 상습도박자에 대한 양형은 재범위험성이 높더라도 자유형이 아닌 사회 내 중간처벌이 더 효과적이라는 사실을 확인할 수 있었으며, 현행 수형자분류 처우규칙상 수용급에서 정신장애와 사이코패스 등과 같은 성격장애는 분리할 필요가 있으며, 처우급에서 역시 심리치료를 할 수 있는 근거가 명확해야 한다는 점이 발견되었다. 따라서 그에 대한 개정의 필요성을 제시하였다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;This study attempted to search for psychological characteristics of inveterate gamblers and proper treatment for them.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;It has been found that impulsivity is the most common problem of inveterate gamblers.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;However, this study hypothesized that pathological lying is one of the gamblers&quot; personality elements since the most dominant feature of gambling os deception.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In order to test this hypothesis, scores of Korean Correctional Personality Inventory were observed. Also, it was analyzed which condition is given for inveterate gamblers in correctional settings.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The result presented the deceitfulness of inveterate gamblers were greater than average inmates.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;This means inveterate gamblers must have problems in pathological deception and lying besides impulsivity.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;Incarceration without treatment was most a usual form of punishment for them.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;At last, it was discussed which treatment might be helpful for inveterate gamblers based on their dispositional features.
