소득분배가 경제성장에 미치는 영향 - 칼레츠키안 거시모형을 통한 분석

Income Distribution and Economic Growth : A Kaleckian Macroeconomic Analysis

  본 연구는 개방경제에서 소득분배가 경제성장에 미치는 영향을 칼레츠키안(Keleckian) 거시 모형을 통해 분석하고, 그 결과가 외환위기 이후 한국경제의 침체에 대해 어떤 점들을 시사하는가를 알아보는 데 있다. 본 연구에 따르면 외환위기 이후 구조적 변화에 따른 투자수요의 악화와 소득분배의 악화에 따른 임금소득자의 소비와 저축의 위축이 경제 침체에 상당한 영향을 주었을 가능성이 높다는 것을 알 수 있다. 또 외환위기에 따른 환율의 절하가 수출을 증대시켜 이러한 영향을 상당히 상쇄할 수 있었지만 최근의 원화의 평가절상이 독과점 체제의 강화로 인한 국내 물가 상승과 결합된다면 경제에 나쁜 영향을 줄 수 있다는 것을 본 연구는 보인다.

  This paper analyzes the effects of income distribution on economic growth in an open economy by using a Kaleckian macroeconomic model. The analysis shows that the slowdown of the Korean economy after the currency crisis of 1997 seems to be affected by the deterioration of the income distribution. Increases in the profit share reduce consumption, and the structural change in economic system dampens the investment demand. The analysis shows that, if these effects are combined with the appreciation of the real exchange rate due to the price level increase, the result would be very harmful to the Korean economy.
