연어(collocation)를 활용한 초등학교 영어 쓰기 향상 방안

  This study investigates the effects of using collocations as a phrase level in English writing activities on 6th graders" writing skill. Writing activities in elementary English for 6th graders consist of writing sentences and paragraphs while writing the alphabets and words that are introduced for 5th graders. However, it seems that 6th graders have a hard time to write sentences since they only did small amount of writing activities such as writing capital or small letters and words when they were 5th graders. The achievement tests and questionnaires were administered and analyzed to yield the following major findings: Firstly, the cognitive domain, using collocation as a phrase level in English writing activities, had a positive influence on writing skill in the first post-test. Secondly, post test indicated that collocations have a long term effect on writing achievement. Thirdly, in the affective domain, it had a positive influence on the lower-proficiency learner"s interest and self-confidence. It is, therefore, necessary that the level of phrase be introduced before learning how to write a sentence.
