Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of pain management education on nurses"s pain knowledge and intervention compliance. Method: The data collection was from December, 2006 to January, 2007. The subjects were consist of 31 in experimental group and 29 in control group. The subjects in experimental group participated in a class of pain management for 40 minutes. The knowledge scale was the revised one by Kwon(2003) using Watt-Watson(1992)"s scale and McCaffery & Ferrell(1997),s scale. The compliance scale was the revised one by Kwon(2003) using McCaffery & Pasero(1999)"s scale. Results: The result of this study were as follows. First, The experimental group"s pain knowledge was higher than control group. Second, there were not significant differences in compliance of medication intervention between two groups. Third, the experimental group"s compliance of intervention without medication was higher than control group. Forth, there were significant relationship knowledge of pain with compliance of intervention.
