Purpose: The purpose of this study is to survey prenatal education needs and correlation between health belief and prenatal care compliance of intermarriage foreign wives. Method: The subjects consisted of 50 intermarriage foreign wives. Data collection was performed from March 17th to May 9th, 2008. Data was analysed by t-test, ANOVA and Pearson"s Correlation Coefficient with SPSS WIN 15.0. Result: The findings were follows: ① The average age was 27.74. The subject who receive prenatal care was 30.0 percent. ② The subjects gained information about pregnancy, delivery and child-care from books or mass-media. ③ 90.0 percent of the subjects answered they would like to participate in prenatal education if they have a chance. The preferred contents of prenatal education were physical change and symptoms caused by pregnancy. ④ Perceived susceptibility was higher in case of subjects who were good at speaking in korean(p=.047). Severity of Buddhism, other religion and no religion were higher than christendom(p=.023, p=.047, p=.015). Barrier was lowest in persons that living with their husband, children and parents-in-law(p=.047). ⑤ Perceived susceptibility was positively related to severity(p=.001) and severity was positively related to benefit and prenatal care compliance(p=.006, p=.038). Conclusion: From now, researchers should focus on development of a program with consideration intermarriage foreign wives" perceived benefit.
