小訥 盧相稷의 저술 및 문헌출간활동 - 구한말 영남 지식인의 지식소통의 공간과 방식

&nbsp;&nbsp;이 논문은 노상직의 저술과 그가 출간에 관여했던 문헌들을 개괄하고, 이 책들의 출판간행과 당시 교육과 학술활동에서 실천적 노력을 기울였던 노상직의 지적 행적과 관련된 의미와 성격을 고찰하고 있다. 小訥 盧相稷(1855~1931)은 19세기 말기와 20세기 초기를 걸쳐 살다간 경남지역의 대표적 지식인 가운데 한 분이다. 어려서부터 총민했던 그는 부친을 따라 性齋許傳을 배알한 이후 학문에 뜻을 두어, 젊은 시절부터 허성재의 문하에 들어가 근기실학의 학문전통을 익혔다. 본래 학문의 실천적 공부를 중시했던 근기실학의 전통은 그에게 지식인으로서의 자세와 삶의 방향을 보여주었다고 본다. 관직에 별 뜻이 없었던 그는 독서와 글쓰기를 통한 지식인으로서의 자기 역할을 다하고자 노력했던 것인데, 그것이 그의 저술활동에 반추되어 나타난다. 스승인 허전이 자기 학문의 결정을 모두 저술로 쏟아내었던 것과 같이 노상직의 저술도 세상과 세태의 모순을 해결하려는 실천적 노력의 하나였던 것이다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;뿐만 아니라 노상직은 문헌의 출판 보급에도 지대한 관심을 갖고 있었다. 밀양 蘆谷으로 거주를 옮긴 이후로 자신의 저술뿐만 아니라 각종 교육서와 문중이나 지역 유현들의 문헌 등 여러 종의 서적을 출간했다. 또한 노곡에서 출간하는 것이 아니더라도 노상직은 당시 주요 문헌간행을 주도하거나 교정에 직접 참여하기도 했다. 문헌출간사업에 이처럼 적극적으로 참여한 인물도 많지 않았는데, 그의 문학적 자질과 문헌에 대한 안목이 남달리 뛰어났던 때문인 것도 있지만, 출판 간행을 통해 문헌을 보급하고 지식을 소통시켜보려는 의지의 결과였다고 본다.

And it studies his intelligent achievements and meanings in the terms of his trying to make practical efforts for contemporary education and writing activities. Having lived in the last 19&lt;SUP&gt;th&lt;/SUP&gt; and the early 20&lt;SUP&gt;th&lt;/SUP&gt; centuries, Noh Sang-jik(1855~1931) was one of the most representative intellects in Kyungnam region. He was told to be bright and keen when he was young, and met with his father SeongJae, Heo Jeon. After then, he had a will to learn and under Heo Jeon&quot;s instruction he studied a tradition of modern practical science, realism. The tradition of modern practical science, which focused its basic on practical learning and work, is believed to have taught intellectual attitude and life course to him. With his less interesting in political environment and as one of the intellectuals he just tried to the best of his ability through reading and writing and it was reflected into his work. Just as his master, Heo Jeon, poured all his academic efforts into writings, Noh Sang-Jik&quot;s work was also one of practical efforts trying to solve a contradiction between the world and its social conditions.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In addition, he was much interested in publishing and distributing. After moving into No gok, Miryang, he published not only his books but also all kinds of educational books, his relatives&quot; and learned folks&quot;. Also, he encouraged contemporary other main writings to be published or edited them even though they were not published in No gok. His efforts for publication are considered due to his great gift for literature, and are somewhat more thought the result from his will for distributing literature documents and delivering knowledge in them to the contemporary.
