申緯의 詩人意識과 技法으로서의 詩學

Shin Wi"s Sense of Poet and Poetics as a Literary Technique

&nbsp;&nbsp;이 논문은 조선후기의 대표적 시인인 申緯(1769~1847) 시의 특징적인 한 국면을 탐구하기 위한 것이다. 주지하듯이 이 시기는 서울과 近畿 지역의 京華世族을 중심으로 한 문학 집단과 지방의 문학 집단 사이에 여러 가지 정치적ㆍ경제적 여건에 따라 문예적 취향의 분화가 일어났고, 신위의 한시는 앞의 집단의 취향을 가장 잘 대변한다고 평가받고 있다.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;제1장에서는 신위가 얼마나 시인으로서 자의식이 강했던가를 살펴보면서, 본론의 논의를 위한 전제로 삼았다. 제2장에서는 주로 『警修堂全藁』의한 小集인 『戊寅錄』의 후반부를 중심으로 疊韻의 칠언율시들이 출현하는 양상을 살피면서 그 밑에 깔린, 자신의 기교를 자부하는 모습을 읽어내려고 하였다. 제3장의 전반부에서는 신위가 다른 사람을 위로하기 위해 지은 작품을 고찰하였는데, 이 작품들은 위로받을 사람의 간절한 요청에 의해서 지어졌거나, 신위 스스로 그 사람을 위로하고 그 상황을 시에 담아 후세에 전할 적임자라는 의식 아래에서 지어진 점에 주목하였다. 아울러 이미 지어진 詩句를 바탕으로 한 편의 율시로 足成하는 양상에 대해서도 같은 시각으로 살폈다. 제3장의 후반부에서는 「寒食記事」를 중심으로 자신이 특정한 행사에서 겪고 느낀 일들을 작품으로 수렴하면서 하나의 “言語的 記念物”로 만들어내어 詩才를 과시하는 측면에 대해서 살펴보았다. 제4장에서는 앞선 논의들을 요약하면서, 신위로 대표되는 몇몇 경화세족들은, 성리학 중심의 세계관을 가지고 있던 사람들이 道本技末的인 태도를 벗어나 技 또한 道의 영역으로 격상시킨 상황에 대해서 논하였다. 신위의 남다른 시인의식이나 이 글에서 논의한 작품들은 이러한 배경에서 읽어야 한다고 생각한다.

&nbsp;&nbsp;The purpose of this paper is to study a characteristic phase of Shin Wi(申緯), one of the representative poets of later period of Chosun Dynasty. As we know, during this period, there arises several derivatives of literary tastes between the poets of the territory of HanYang(漢陽) and the Provincial ones. And Sin Wi was the most prominent poets of the former groups.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In chapter 1, surveying as a poet how strong his self-consciousness is, we make it a major premise for more discussion.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In chapter 2, surveying the aspect of expressing Seven-Syllabic Code Verse(七言律 詩) which cling to the same foot in the latter parts of MuInRok(『戊寅錄』) of Kyungsudangjeongo(『警修堂全藁』), the complete poems of Sin Wi, we are endeavored to read Sin Wi&quot;s self-image, boasting of his poetic techniques.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;The former part of chapter 3, we survey the poetic works which is dealt with consoling his acquaintances. We noticed that he composed his poetic works at his acquaintances ardent request or his own will to console them and relate their stories through his poems with a sense of poetic mission. In the latter part of chapter 3, we survey the aspect of his displaying poetic ability. through his poetic works based on certain specific festivals that he saw and experienced, he produced a linguistic memorial.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In chapter 4, we summarize aforementioned discussions. Furthermore, while the Neo-Confucianists valued Tao(道) more than techniques(技), some intellectuals in HanYang including Sin Wi valued (artistic) techniques as well as Tao. Also, we argued that to approach Sin Wi&quot;s sense of poet and his aforementioned poetical works, we should understand them under this background.
