Although, the application of make-up is routine activity for women, it is said that Japanese women and Korean women are different in the colors they select. While it has been reported that Japanese women use a comparatively lighter color and korean woman use a darker color, no measurement have actually been made. this study conducted in two countries, Japan and Korea, which are geographically near each other. The purpose of this study was to comparison the color of foundation-applied skin in Korean and Japanese women in their 20"s. I measured 3 sites on the face. The results were analyzed by using a 3-way ANOVA(nationality, site, make-up) and t-test or multiple-comparison test(Fisher"s PLSD). The results of this study were: 1) The Japnese women showed more reddish skin color than Korean women in their bare skin. 2)Both the Japanese and the Korean women wear slightly yellowish make-up than their bare skin. 3) Both the Japanese and Koreans wear darker make-up on their cheeks. It is common method of make-up found in both countries.
