예비초등교사의 시각으로 본 체육교육의 이해와 반성

Preservice Teachers’ Perception Changes in Teaching Elementary Physical Education

  이 연구는 예비초등교사의 관점에서 학교체육 현장실습을 통해 형성한 체육수업에 대한 인식을 분석하고 홀리스틱 교육의 관점에서 반성의 지표로 삼는 데 목적이 있다. 2007년 현재 경기ㆍ인천 지역에 소재한 G교육대학교에 재학중인 학생 300명을 대상으로 유층집락무선표집하였으며, 개방형 설문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하고 귀납적 범주 분석을 통해 내용을 분석하였다. 첫째, 예비초등교사는 현장실습 이전에는 체육수업을 노는 수업, 걱정스런 수업, 재미있는 수업, 교사가 중요한 수업, 재미없는 수업이라고 인식하는 반면 현장실습 이후에는 체육수업을 교사에게 어려운 수업, 체계적인 수업, 비체계적인 수업, 학생에게 즐거운 수업, 교육적 효과 있는 수업, 수업 지원이 미흡한 수업이라고 인식하였다. 둘째, 현장실습 전과 후에 변화된 인식의 이유는 체육수업의 중요성, 교사의 중요성, 즐거운 체육수업, 힘든 체육수업, 열악한 체육수업 때문이다. 셋째, 현장실습을 통해 얻은 희망적인 요인은 체육수업은 즐겁다, 체육수업 잘할 수 있다, 체육수업이 교육적인 효과가 있다는 데 인식을 같이하였다. 넷째, 초등체육교육의 방향은 수업실습, 교수법, 실기수업, 현장교육강화, 수업관리기술, 교직관, 그리고 전담교사의 필요성에서 인식을 같이하였다.

  The purpose of this study was to analyze preservice teachers’ perceptions of teaching elementary physical education from viewpoint of holistic education. A total of three hundred preservice teachers who were enrolled at GI university of education located in Gyeonggi Province and Incheon were investigated by using an open-ended questionnaire. The data were analyzed by using inductive categorical analysis and Chi square. The following result were obtained. First, the preservice teachers differently perceived about teaching elementary physical education before and after school practicum. Second. the reasons of changed perceptions were recognizing the importance of physical education, the importance of teachers’ roles, the difficulties in teaching elementary physical education as fun subject matter, and the lack of facilities and equipments. Third, the positive sides of teaching elementary physical education were: Teaching elementary physical education was enjoyable; they began to have more confidence in teaching elementary physical education; and they recognized the positive effects of teaching elementary physical education. Fourth, the program contents of preservice education that needed to be improved were related to teaching presentation, instruction, teaching method, practical training, school practicum, classroom management, and teaching perspectives. They also felt the necessity of hiring more elementary physical eduction specialist.
