The purpose of this study is to activate CCDL(Cross Cultural Distance Learning) program between Kangwon National University and Waseda University in Japan and to investigate how effective a way it is for students to enhance their English proficiency. The results of teaching English literature through CCDL program are as follows. First, participants become confident in English writing. Students express their own ideas in English every week and their frequency of using English is increased. Second, it is possible to form intimacy between a professor and students. A professor should give feedback to each student. Third, students show positive and active attitudes to participate in the program and class. Fourth, it is possible to use a lot of teaching methods such as discussion and presentation. Finally, it is helpful to understand other culture.
