어린이집 영아반 실외놀이에 대한 부모의 인식

Parents" Perceptions of Outdoor Play for Infants in Child Care Settings

  본 연구는 어린이집에서의 영아반 실외놀이에 대한 부모의 인식을 알아봄으로써 영아기 실외놀이의 활성화를 위한 기초자료를 제공하기 위하여 서울ㆍ경기지역 39곳의 어린이집에 재원 중인 만 1, 2세 영아의 부모 328명을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 부모들은 영아의 신체 발달에 적합한 실외공간 및 놀이시설, 놀잇감이 제공되며, 안전성을 최우선으로 고려한 어린이집 내 영아전용 실외놀이 공간이 필요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 실외놀이의 운영에 있어서는 봄ㆍ가을에, 주 1~2회로, 오후에, 30분 내외로 영아들의 건강과 신체리듬을 고려한 실외놀이가 실시되어야 하며, 실외놀이 시에는 교사 1인당 영아 3명 이내가 적당하고, 교사의 안전 지도가 가장 중요하다고 인식하고 있었다. 또한 부모들은 실외놀이가 영아의 성장과 발달에 도움을 주기 때문에 반드시 필요하며, 교육적 가치가 있다고 인식하고 있었고 개선점으로 안전에 대한 지속적인 관리와 다양한 실외놀이 프로그램의 개발이 필요하다고 지적하였다.

  The purpose of this study was to examine parents" perceptions of outdoor play for infants in child care settings. 328 parents who had an infant attending 1-year-old or 2-year-old classrooms in child care settings in Seoul and Gyeonggi Province completed a questionnaire developed for this study. The findings of this study are as follows. First, the parents perceived that infants need an outdoor play ground inside their child care settings for their use only, and safety issues were their first priority to consider when organizing appropriate outdoor space, play facilities, and play materials for infants" growth and development. Second, in terms of management of outdoor play for infants, the parents thought that outdoor play should be provided once or twice a week, in the afternoon time, for about 30 minutes per time, and usually in spring and autumn depending on an infant"s condition and weather. In addition, the parents considered the appropriate teacher to infant ratio to be 1 to 3, and they believed that infant teachers should plan outdoor play with educational purposes and give priority to infants" safety. Third, the parents perceived that outdoor play for infants is a requisite since it helps infant growth and development and has educational value. Also, the parents pointed out the need for close and continuous supervision for infants" safety and development of various outdoor play programs in order to improving outdoor play for infants.
