미국산 쇠고기 수입위생조건 협상의 평가

A Study on the Appraisal for the Consultation of the Import Health Requirements for U.S. Beef Products

&nbsp;&nbsp;In April, 2008, Korea and United States held consultations on the conditions for resumption of U.S. beef import into Korea. U.S. beef import has been banned into Korea from Oct. 2007 due to BSE. Two countries agreed on a new protocol for the importation of beef and beef products from U.S.A. into Korea.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;As a result, 29 Jun, 2008, Korea government noticed new notification on &quot;Import Health Requirements for U.S. Beef and Beef Products&quot; so that U.S. beef import can be resumed into Korea.<BR>&nbsp;&nbsp;In this article, I have studied on the Appraisal for the Consultation of the Import Health Requirements for U.S. Beef Products, then suggest some idea on beef quarantine policy to Korea Government. For Examples, international standards, guidelines and recommendations for sanitary measures must not be excluded in domestic policies due to national interests.
