A Study on the Relationship between Personality Type and Tourism Majored Student"s GPA

  The purpose of this study was to identify the relationship between personality type and GPA scores of the students who majors tourism. The data were collected from "k" tourism College students in Korea. The study used Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Form. MBTI test were conducted and used to analyze student"s Personality Type. The results from MBTI and GPA scores were analyzed by SPSS 12.0 Package. Students" personalities have been split into four types, E, S, T, and J type, and the result shows that ESTJ type and ESTP type students are dominant groups. The results of the analysis show that only S-I and J-P types establish a significant relationship between personality type and GPA scores. However, it is crucial to consider each student"s personality type as a basis for personalized education in order to have effective teaching strategies.
