협력 네트웍에서, 기회주의(Opportunism)의 예방: 자산전용성과 정보개방이 하청기업의 기술투자에 미치는 영향

Restraints of Opportunism in Cooperative Networks: the Role of Manufacturers" Asset Specificity and Information Sharing on Suppliers" Technology Investment

  본 연구는 하청네트웍에서, 자산의 전용성과 정보의 개방이 하청기업의 연구개발투자, 공장자동화, 해외기술도입 등 기술투자에 미치는 영향을 분석했다. 자동차 및 전자산업의 1차 하청업체 130개를 대상으로 실증 분석해 본 결과, 조립대기업의 자산전용성과 정보의 개방이 클수록 하청기업의 기술투자는 큰 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는, 하청기업의 기술투자에는 기회주의적 행위 예방이 중요한 요인으로 작용하며, 조립대기업의 자산전용성과 정보의 개방은 하청기업의 기술투자를 유인하는 중요한 신호(Signal)가 된다는 것을 의미한다.

  This study analyzes the effects of manufacturers" asset specificity and information sharing policy on suppliers" technology investment in subcontracting networks with data from 130 suppliers in the Korean automobile and electronics industries. The results show that a higher level of manufacturers" asset specificity and information sharing with suppliers positively influences suppliers" technology investment. Thus, the results of this study support that manufacturers" asset specificity and information sharing provide a powerful signal to suppliers, as means of constraining opportunism.
