한국 성인의 평생교육 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인 탐색

The Determinants of Adults Learning Participants for Lifelong in Korea

본 연구는 한국 성인의 평생학습 참여에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석, 도출하기 위하여 ① 평생학습참여에 영향을 미치는 요인, ② 평생학습 참여 지속에 미치는 영향 요인, ③평생학습 신규 참여에 미치는 영향요인 분석을 위해 로지스틱 희귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석결과 평생학습 참여, 평생학습 지속참여, 평생학습 신규참여의 3개 최종 모형에서 유의한 회귀계수를 보면 현재의 평생학습 참여 상태와 향후 평생학습 신규참여 의향에는 나이, 성별, 교육년수와 같은 개인변수와 소득 및 거주지 변수가 유의한 영향을 미치는 반면 현재 참여하고 있는 학습자의 지속적인 참여에는 직업변수가 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 중 교육년수는 평생학습참여와 신규참여에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 변수로 교육수준이 높을수록 현재 평생학습에 참여하거나 향후 참여할 가능성이 높은 것으로 볼 수 있다. 직업변수는 현재 평생학습에 참여하고 있는 사람의 지속적인 참여에 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다. 이 때, 사무관리직, 자영업, 주부, 노무직의 순으로 지속적으로 참여할 가능성이 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이에 평생학습 참여 수준별로 평생학습에 진입하거나 평생학습을 지속할 수 있도록 하기 위해서는 이러한 특성에 따른 차별화된 지원 방안이 요구된다.

The purpose of this study is to find the determinants of adults’ participation for lifelong learning in South Korea. The logistic regression was used as the methods to analyze the variables for participation, continuance and the motivation for new participation. The results are the followings: The variables of the individual (age, sex, education), income, and the place of residence are meaningful in motivation and participation, while job variables are meaningful in continuance. The education factor was the most meaningful variable in motivation and participation. Whereas, the job factor is the most in continuance. Thus, the different supports and programs should be prepared for the participants of lifelong learning who have a variety of needs and traits.
