Empirical analysis of the 'Singugan' residential-moving custom in Jeju Island

The purpose of this article is to analyze the ‘Jeju Island’ people's conscious structure as to what effect ‘Sinjugan’ has on the residential movement and residential culture by analyzing their behavior. The scope of this article was confined to the contents of consciousness related to ‘Jeju Island’ people's residential movement at the time of ‘Singugan ’ from a perspective of real estate science. This article attempted to analyze the conception, normativeness, spiritual culture value and conservability of ‘Singugan ’ in relation to the degree of ‘Jeju Island’ people's consciousness of it. It employed the descriptive study and direct questionnaire research as the research method. The result of the questionnaire was analyzed by statistical method; for data processing, along with a test for reliability in the measuring tools and correlation analysis, chi-square test, cross-tabulation analysis, regression analysis and structure equation modeling analysis; analyses were all tested all the p<.05 significance level. Based on the analysis of the 707 observations, the following results are found. It sought to analyze the season customs of ‘Jeju Island’ from a perspective of real estate science that “The peculiar custom of a particular region has a spiritual effect on the movement of residence, and the reasonable and ecological human being made an external residential movement to harmonize with the external environment with internal changes". As a result, it was found that ‘Singugan ’ is not only the peculiar season customs of the region but also the internal factor of the residential movement culture that has a tremendous effect on the residential movement of ‘Jeju Island’ people.
