A Study on the Security Reinforcement for the Prevention of International Terrorism to Shipping and Harbor

Recently the new paradigm, logistics security comes out in the world trade. This came from the international security movement after 9.11 attack in the U.S. The variable is now logistics security system in the global trade and especially maritime traffic and harbor which take 90% of world trade can be affected by this trend. The international organizations and each countries build their own security systems and plans to prevent from maritime terrorism and make sure the safety in the global trade system. The purpose of this study is to examine the international maritime law and safety/security regulations then evaluate them. Also we review the maritime safety and security regulations in the U.S. and Japan.
