부모-자녀관계와 청소년의 우울 및 문제행동과의 관계

Effects of Parent-Adolescent Relationships and Depression on Adolescents' Problem Behavior

본 연구는 청소년의 문제행동에 대한 청소년이 지각한 부모와의 개방형 의사소통, 부모와의 갈등, 부모지지 및 부모애착 그리고 우울과의 인과적 관련성과 지각된 부모와의 개방형 의사소통, 부모와의 갈등, 부모지지 및 부모애착과 우울에 따른 청소년 문제행동의 차이를 알아보는 것이었다. 이를 위해 창원시에 위치한 중학교 1학년(154명), 2학년(166명), 총 320명(남:174, 여:146)을 대상으로 청소년의 우울, 문제행동 그리고 지각된 부모와의 개방형 의사소통, 부모와의 갈등, 부모지지 및 부모애착을 자기보고식 질문지를 이용하여 자료를 수집하였다. 주요 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 높은 수준의 부모와의 갈등과 우울 그리고 낮은 수준의 부모애착은 청소년의 문제행동에 직접적인 영향력을 보였다. 둘째, 높은 수준의 부모와의 갈등은 청소년의 문제행동에 낮은 수준의 부모애착과 높은 수준의 우울을 경로로 하여 간접적인 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 낮은 수준의 부모와의 개방형 의사소통은 낮은 수준의 부모지지를 경로로 하여 청소년의 문제행동에 간접적인 영향력을 보였다. 넷째, 낮은 수준의 부모지지는 높은 수준의 우울을 경로로 하여 청소년의 문제행동에 간접적인 영향력을 가지는 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 청소년의 문제행동에 대한 부모지지의 영향을 우울이 조절하는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 우울 수준이 낮고 부모지지가 높은 청소년 집단의 경우 문제행동의 수준에 대한 차이가 다른 조건에서 보다 상대적으로 큰 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로 본 연구의 결과들과 관련하여 시사점 및 실용적 맥락에서 논의하였다.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the casual and moderating effects of the parent-adolescent open communication, parent-adolescent conflict, parental support and attachment, and adolescents' problem behavior following depression. The subjects were 320 male and female 7th and 8th grade students in Changwon. Data were collected through questionnaires. Results showed that, 1) High parent-adolescent conflict and depression and low parental attachment had direct relations with adolescents' problem behavior. 2) High parent-adolescent conflict was indirectly related to adolescents' problem behavior through low parental attachment and high depression. 3) Low Parent-adolescent open communication was indirectly related to adolescents' problem behavior through low parental support. 4) Low parental support was indirectly related to adolescents' problem behavior through high depression. 5) It was found that depression works as a moderator between the parent support and adolescents' problem behavior. That is, a group of adolescents with low depression and high parent support showed a large difference in problem behavior. Lastly, implications and future research directions are discussed.
