The purpose of this study was to analyze the structure of deductive scientific-knowledge and to develop the process model of deductive knowledge generation on the task of biological hypothesis-testing. Subjects were 8 college students majoring science education. Raw protocols were collected by a thinking aloud method and a retrospective interview method. The protocols were analyzed by inductive approach. The present study showed that the deductive scientific-knowledge that was generated during the testing of biological hypothesis contained a hypothesis-testing method and a criterion. The test method contained an operating method and an observing method. The results of this study showed that the process model of deductive knowledge generation had two dimensions. In first dimension, deductive scientific-knowledge was generated by representing experienced situation, representing experienced method, and borrowing experienced method. In the second dimension, deductive scientific-knowledge was elaborated by adding the components of the methods.
