The purpose of this study was to develop a valid and reliable instrument which assesses student`s ability of science-knowledge generation. The instruments is consisted of 15 items related to inductive, abductive and deductive knowledge generation. The items were developed by modifying and complementing through two pre-tests and one filed test. The result of this study showed significant values in the content validity, the concurrent validity, the construct validity, the internal consistency, the parallel-form reliability, and the item discrimination. Also in the group comparison, the difference of grades was statistically significant. Therefore, it could be concluded that the developed instrument was a valid, reliable and useful tool for assessing the ability of science-knowlege generation.
