In this paper, I aim to discuss the cutural theories in the transition period, to wish to probe into sensible Christian cultural theories faced with the problems of the approaching information-oriented society in a new millenium. Living in the digital information-oriented society, we have horizontal human relations and cultural apsects instead of vertical ones. The cultural theories in this period can be called intermixtured cultural ones : theory of hyper-reality and intercommunication and vertual reality, horizontal multi-cultural theory, and the theories of deconstructed literature and cultural studies into literature, stemming from postmodernism in the information-oriented society. These cultural theories and phenomena exert positive an negative influences upon our information-oriented society. Here we have to do a `good fight` against negative ones holding sway of `pure simulacrum` over the truth, dehumanization, alienation, sexual immorality, violation, vulgar cultures, and the absolutization of cultural relativism, especially atheisitic cultures and their theories. For this purpose, we, the christian intellectuals should try to have a `missionary conversation` with those of secular cultures and such phenomena, cultural pluralism. religious pluralism, and moral anarchism to recover the absolute values.
