For this research, I conducted survey on 150 students who take Taekwondo training and 150 students who don’t take the training. They are all elementary students in Jeonju City and were selected by convenience sampling. Total of 203 returned questionnaire sheets were actually used for this research. The returned questionnaire sheets were analyzed with frequency rate for demographic characteristics and reliability rate (Cronbach’s α) for subordinate factors, independence sample (t-test), one-way ANOVA, and post-hoc Scheffe. The questionnaire contained 37 questions including five demographic factors. As subordinate factor of academic self-perception, 15 questions for academic accomplishment perception factor (α=.938), and 17 questions for academic ability perception factor (α = .885) were included. The survey results showed that academic self-perception in accordance with whether or not taking the training all had significance level .001 with significant difference and Taekwondo trainees had higher scores than non-trainees. In academic self-perception in accordance with school years of Taekwondo trainee, all had significance level .01 with significant difference, and trainees who have taken the training for one year or more had higher scores. In academic self-perception in accordance with the reason to take the training, all had significance level .01 with significant difference, and the trainees who take the training because they liked Taekwondo had higher scores. Such results showed that Taekwondo training gives rather positive effect than negative effect on academic self-perception.
