The purpose of this study is to analyze how Taekwondo training affects children's school adjustment and character development, draw general conclusions, and provide incumbent trainers with basic educational data to guide trainees more effectively. Eight Taekwondo halls were selected in Suwon as of 2008 and a total of 320 trainees who were elementary school children were randomly sampled, 40 for each group, went through analysis. The data principally went through descriptive statistics analysis, F-test, factorial analysis, one-way ANOVA, correlation analysis, and regression analysis by using an SPSS for Windows 12.0 program, obtaining. This study analyzed the effects of Taekwondo training on children's school adjustment and character development, obtaining the following results. First, as for effects of Taekwondo training on school adjustment, there were significant differences by school instruction, relationship with teachers, and peer relations in terms of the period of time for training, by school events, relationship with teachers, and peer relations in terms of the amount of time for training, by school instruction, school rules, school events, and peer relations in terms of the number of participations in training. Second, as for effects of Taekwondo training on character development, there were significant differences in emotional, intellectual, and social development by the period of time for training, in emotional, intellectual, social, and living attitude development by the amount of time for training, in emotional, intellectual, social, and living attitude development by the number of participations in training.
