This study was carried out to investigate damages of chestnut by Dichocrocis punctiferalis and timing the control using sex pheromone. The results summarized is as follows. Mean damage rate by Dichocrocis punctiferalis was 19.2% at survey areas with the highest at Hypchon area, and the lowest at Hamyang area. Damage rates in such varieties as Chukpa, Eunki and Dantek were 25.05%, 33.01% and 39.02%, respectively. The total number of male adults attracted by sex pheromone was 379, with the largest numbers caught at Hapchon area of all survey areas. The first control time was between June20 and July 10, and the second control time was between August 10 and September 10 in Kyeongnam province.
