대학교육성과에 영향을 미치는 요인에 관한 연구

이 연구는 대학교육성과에 영향을 미치는 요인을 선별하여 각 요인에 대한 타당성 검증을 목적으로 한다. 먼저 기존 선행연구 검토를 통하여 대학교육성과에 영향을 미칠 것으로 예상되는 대학의 설립주체, 소재지역, 규모를 주요 요인으로 추출하였다. 이렇게 도출된 요인에 기초해 대학은 설립주체에 따라 ‘교육성과가 다르게 나타난다’, ‘대학은 소재지역에 따라 교육성과가 다르게 나타난다’, ‘대학은 규모에 따라 교육성과가 다르게 나타난다’라는 세 가지 연구문제를 도출하고 검증을 시도하였다. 『2008 우수인력양성대학 교육역량강화사업』에서 재정지원을 위해 개발한 교육지표자료를 활용하였으며, 분석방법으로는 T-test, ANOVA, 다중회귀분석을 실시하였다. 이번 연구에서는 종속변수인 대학교육성과를 모형Ⅰ(재학생충원율), 모형Ⅱ(교육성과), 모형Ⅲ(교육여건+교육성과)로 설정하여 분석을 실시한 결과 다음과 같은 정책적 시사점을 도출할 수 있었다. 첫째, 대학교육성과를 측정할 때 다양한 지표보다는 핵심지표에 중점을 두어야 한다. 둘째, 비수도권에 위치한 대학의 교육성과 향상을 위해서 획기적인 노력이 필요하다. 셋째, 대학을 규모의 경제활용이 가능할 만큼 적정 규모화 할 필요가 있으며 이를 위한 M&A를 적극 추진할 필요가 있다.

This research sets the institution type, physical location and the size of the universities as main factors expected to affect on the educational performance of the universities. Based on the research framework in which performance of universities would be different by those factors, this study drives three hypotheses and examines them. We tried empirical analyses through ModelⅠ,Ⅱ, and Ⅲ. Each dependent variable of the Model is structured as follows. ModelⅠ utilizes the supplement rate of the student, ModelⅡ is expanded to the employment ratio after graduation, and ModelⅢ is expanded to include the conditions of the institutions. The reason to devide the research model in three parts is for analyzing the factors clearly. The results of it are as follows. First, it is important to focus on main index rather than the composite one, when measuring the educational performance of the universities. Second, there should be more creative effort to improve the educational quality and performance of the universities in non-metropolitan area. Third, the M&A should be recommended for proper size of the universities for getting the economy of scale.
