국내 여성중소기업과 남성중소기업의 경영성과 비교

A Comparative Study on the Performance of Female/Male Small and Medium Business Owners in Korea

본 연구는 국내 여성중소기업과 남성중소기업의 경영성과를 비교‧검토하고 있다. 본 연구는 기술보증기금의 자료를 이용하고 있으며, 이는 총 68,091개 기업으로 구성되어 있다. 이중 남성기업은 63,940개(93.9%)이며, 여성기업은 4,151개(6.1%)이다. 본 연구에 사용된 분석방법은 분할표 검정, t-검정 등이다. 분석결과, 업력을 고려할 경우 여성기업의 보증사고의 가능성은 남성기업의 그것보다 낮다. 그리고 재무적 성과도 여성기업이 남성기업보다 좋다. 이는 기존의 연구결과와 부분적으로만 일치된다.

This study has examined and compared the performances of the female small & medium business(SMB) owners with those of the male SMB owners in Korea by analyzing the data of Korea Technology Credit Guarantee Fund(KIBO). The total number of the data used in this study is 68,091: 63,940(93.3%) male business owners and 4,151(6.1%) female business owners, respectively. To achieve the research objectives, we performed contingency table test and t-test. The findings from the tests are: i) the possibility of bankruptcy is higher with male business owners when gender of owner and lengths of previous paid-employment experiences are factored in; ii) the financial performances of female business owners are better than those of male owners. These results coincided in part with past studies.
