영재 담당교사와 일반교사의 창의성 비교

A Comparative Analysis of Creativity between Teachers of the Gifted and Teachers of General Students

본 연구의 목적은 영재학급을 담당하는 교사 집단의 창의성과 일반 학급을 담당하는 교사 집단의 창의성을 비교해보고, 교사의 창의성과 교직 경력간의 상관관계와 담당 교과목에 따른 창의성의 차이를 검증해 보는데 있다. 이를 위하여 총 115명의 교사(65명의 영재학급 담당 교사/50명의 일반학급 교사)들에게 TCT-DP를 사용하여 창의성을 검사하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 전체적으로 영재학급 담당 교사(이하 영재교사)의 창의성이 일반학급 담당 교사(이하 일반교사)에 비하여 유의미하게 높았다. 그러나 학교급 별로 비교해 보았을 때는, 초등영재를 담당하는 교사의 창의성이 초등 일반교사에 비하여 통계적으로 유의미하게 높게 나타났으나 중등학교의 경우는 영재교사와 일반교사 집단간에 유의미한 차이가 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 영재담당 교사와 일반교사 집단의 창의성과 교직 경력 간에는 전체적으로 교사의 창의성과 교직경력 간에 부적 상관이 있는 것으로 밝혀졌다. 그러나 영재담당 교사의 경우 창의성과 교직 경력 간에 통계적으로 유의미한 상관이 나타나지 않았으며, 중등 일반교사집단에서 교사 창의성과 교직 경력 사이에 부적 상관이 있었다. 셋째, 영재담당 교사와 일반교사 집단의 창의성이 담당 교과에 따라 차이가 있는지를 검증하기 일원변량분석을 실시한 결과, 전체적으로 교사의 창의성은 담당 교과에 따라 유의미한 차이가 없었다.

The purpose of this study was to compare the creativity of teachers of the gifted with the creativity of teachers of the general students. The subjects were 65 teachers of the gifted and 50 teachers) of general students. TCT-DP was used to collect the subjects' creativity. The major results of this study were as follows : First, the creativity of teachers of the gifted was significantly higher than that of the teachers of general students as a whole(t=2.34, p<.05). Comparing the groups by the level of teaching, the teachers' creativity of the gifted in elementary school was higher than that of the teachers of general students(t=2.57, p<.05). This difference was not shown in the groups in middle school. Second, overall, the creativity of teachers was negatively correlated(-.32, p<.001) with their teaching careers. There was no significant correlation between groups in elementary school whereas a negative correlation was found between teachers of general students in middle school. Third, Comparing the groups by their major, there were no significant differences between groups.
