ECSWS is rare epileptic syndrome in children. It was first described in 1972 by Patry as “subclinical electrical status epilepticus induced by sleep in children”. Clinically, seizure type is variable, but it is diagnosed by typical sleep EEG, which is over 85% of spike and wave complex on non-REM sleep. We experienced three cases of “Epilepsy with continuous spike and waves during sleep”. Clinically, they showed mixed seizure types. During overnight polysomnographic EEG recording, sleep tracings demonstrated continuous spike and wave complex of 2 Hz and 2-3 Hz over 90%. Therefore we report their clinical and EEG findings.
