We are now living in the digital society, owe to development of computer and internet. And we are about to go to the ubiquitous society, that all electronic products are controlled by operating the button of cellular phone. But how would our cultural mind be in the digital society? Would any change of culture be there? Traditionally we make a difference between culture and civilization. People think that culture is of mind and civilization is of material. but I don`t think it is correct. As we read the famous books like `The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of World Order`(by Samuel Huntington) or `The Coexistence of Civilizations`(by Harald Muller) of `Collapse : how societies choose to fail or succeed`(by Jared Diamond) etc, we can realize that the two word, culture and civilization, is used in similar meaning. That is to say, we don`t need to make a difference between culture and civilization today. There are many kinds of elements like science, art, construction, philosophy, religion, law etc in culture. I think the philosophy and religion are the most important elements in culture. Because the thought of those has ruled our mind and body and spirit etc. In addition, the law is the most important norm in our society, and so I would like to study about philosophy, religion and law as the representative of the spiritual culture.
