Essential tremor(ET) is the most common of the movement disorders. characterized by intermittent or constant tremor of the head, hand, or vice, tremor of the postural or kinetic type, and absence of other diseases, toxin, or drugs that my cause tremor. While frequently referred to as "benign essential tremor". ET may be quite disabling. Patients with ET may be handicapped by the physical limitation or the social embarrassment caused by the tremor. Difficulties with handwriting, drinking liquids, and other fine manipulations are common complaints of patients with ET. At present, there is no biologic marker specific for the diagnosis of ET and diagnosis is based on its clinical manifestations. We experienced one case of ET in a 12 year old girl having postural and resting tremor since 3 year old. Frequency of tremor was 3 - 7 Hz. We diagnosed her as ET, and administrated propranolol. Propranolol reduced tremor severity in some degree. But in a stressful situation. there was no significant improvement. We report a case of early onset ET with a brief review of related literatures.
