Developmental Changes of Auditory Brainstem Responses in Normal Children from Neonate to Young Adults

저자들은 출생후부터 20세까지의 건강아 160명을 대상으로 연령에 따른 청성뇌간반응 발달적 변화를 조사하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 파형을 보면 Ⅰ,Ⅲ 및 Ⅴ파는 출생후부터, Ⅱ파는 생후 2개월부터 출현하였고, 정점잠시는 연령의 증가에 따라 점차 단축되어 생후 3-6개월경에 성인과 유사한 파형을 보였다. 2. 각파의 정점 잠시를 보면 Ⅰ파는 생후 2개월부터, Ⅲ파는 2세부터, 그리고 Ⅴ파는 6-8세부터 성인값에 도달하였다. 3. 각파의 정점간 잠시에서 정점간 잠시 Ⅲ-Ⅰ은 2세부터, 정점간 잠시Ⅴ-Ⅲ과 Ⅴ-Ⅰ은 6-8세부터 각각 성인값에 도달하였다.

This study was conducted to examine the developmental changes in auditory brainstem response(ABR) which take place during the period from term neonate to 20 years of age. ABR were elicited from neurologically normal 160 subject(M: 89, F:71). To avoid movement and other artifacts the infant was sudied during sedated sleep with Nopron？？ syrup, but older subjects were instructed to remain as motionless as possible. Bioelectric activity was recorded from disc electrodes placed as Cz and A1 or A2 of the international 10-20 system. Auditory stimuli(clicks) consisted of 10 msec in duration and of an intensity of 75 dB above hearing threshold, which were delivered monoaurally through headphone at a rate of 10/sec. ABR with 2.048 stimuli was amplified and summated in an averaging computer, and the plotted by an X-Y recorder(Neuropack Ⅱ, Model MEB-51100,Nihon Koden Co, Japan) for measurements of the latency(msec) and amplitude(μv) of the various components. Statistical significance of date was determine by student t-test. The result were summarized as follows: 1. Waves Ⅰ,Ⅲ and Ⅴ were clearly distinguishable at birth, whereas wave Ⅱbegan to differentiate as independent peak at 2 months of age. The waveform similar to adult was established at 3-6months of age. 2. Peak latencies of wave Ⅰ,Ⅲ and Ⅴ had reached the adult values at 2 months, 2 years and 6-8 years of age respectively. 3. Interpeak latencies of wave Ⅲ-Ⅰ had reached the adult values at 2 years of age, and those of wave Ⅴ-Ⅲ and Ⅴ-Ⅰ at 6-8 years of age. 4. The amplitude of wave Ⅰ and Ⅲ had reached the adult values at 2 years of age, and those of wave Ⅴ at 4 years of age.
