1. CONTENTS (1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES The Purpose of this study is to investigate actual condition of cadastal reform focusing on boundary disputes and settlement and to presrnt facing problems and solutions. (2) RESEARCH METHOD The substance of this study is bounded to present and suggest facing problems and efficient ways to remove obstacles by analysing the process of cadastral reform in Korea. Every issue was studied and analyzed through referring to the relevant documents about the civil law, the real estate registration law and the cadastral law recent precedents by the Constitutional Court and the Supreme Court. (3) RESEARCH RESULTS The issues referring to boundary disputes are decision of pacel point, change of parcel points and legal cost of boundary disputes. The issues referring to settlement problems are implementation, the objects and compensation. To solve the problem of boundary dispute, when cadastral reform is implemented, we should encourage the public to participate it by advertising and making consent. 2. RESULTS Settlement cost should be estimated per square meter and parcel number after agreement of the committee of Cadastral Reform. Secondly, deposit and payment of the settlement cost should be from a settlement fund. It is necessary to introduction of a a mediation committee and a formal objection that solve the boundary dispute. It is necessary to proceed to complement the cadastral system to make cadastral reform to fit out real situation. 3.
