교육연극을 활용한 미국 드라마 수업

Making meanings with students of American drama and film arts class through educational theater: A case study based on correlation analysis

This study aims to investigate the extent to which educational theater techniques such as staging a play in class would encourage students' process of making meanings out of a play. Based on constructivistic perspectives, this study claims educational theater creates the opportunities in which students experience self-directed learning about the plays and their characteristics. The data were collected through questionnaire of 33 students who took my class, American Drama and Film Arts. The findings show that most of students satisfied with the class enjoyed the process of staging plays. This study also suggests that students who favored the methodology of educational theater agreed that the creating process enhances their understanding of plays. According to the analysis of the data, students with satisfaction in class demonstrated changed perspectives on theatre art as accessible one.
