군산항 이용 장애요인에 관한 연구

An Empirical Study on Barriers of GunSan Port Utilization

본 연구는 최근 새만금 개발과 더불어 그 중요성이 재조명되고 있는 군산항 활성화를 모색하기 위해서 항만 이용 장애요인으로 접근하였다. 그동안 군산항이 아닌 다른 항만에 관련된 연구는 항만선택요인과 항만품질 요인에 집중하여 연구되었으나 실질적으로 이용자들이 군산항을 이용하는데 어떠한 요인을 장애로 느끼는지에 대한 연구는 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 군산항과 지리적 접근성에도 불구하고 타항만을 이용하거나 혹은 군산항 이용이 저조한 기업을 대상으로 실증분석을 실시하였다. 다중회귀분석과 나아가 기존 항만과의 관계 밀접도에 따른 각 요인들의 영향력을 알아보기 위하여 더미조절회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 항만서비스의 부족이나 항만접근성요인은 부정적 영향은 있으나 그 값이 통계적 유의성을 가지지 못했다. 그러나 높은 비용과 화물처리의 미숙은 군산항 이용에 부정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 더미조절회귀분석에서도 기존 항만과 관계가 밀접할수록 이용자들은 비용과 화물처리에 더 부정적인 반응을 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 군산항의 이용을 증대시키기 위해서는 실질적인 인센티브 및 화물처리능력을 강화시키는 것이 필요하다는 것을 알 수 있다.

This study explores and identifies the barriers in the decision to choose GunSan Port by exporters, importers and forwarders for the activation of GunSan Port which ir re-estimated by developing 'Saemanguem'. Previous research has only focused on port selection and port service quality but they failed to explore the barriers to port selection. Therefore, we studied empirical research of companies which don't use GunSan Port although their companies may be close to GunSan port. The barrier factors to the choice of GunSan port include the following four factors: service, proximity, expense and operation. The results suggested that the shortage of port service and proximity have a negative influence on the use of GunSan port but the value is not significant statistically. However, high expense and poor operation of the port have a negative influence on it statistically. In dummy moderate regression, the higher level the relationship of previous port, the more likely the factors have negative influence on use of GunSan port. These results could suggest meaningful thoughts for the sale of GunSan port. That is, for increasing the use of GunSan port it may be required to provide incentives or to strengthen the ports operational abilities.
